If there is one point that the author is trying to make in this chapter, it seems to be that the opportunities for an interactive media writer are many and varied. Writers can choose many directions in searching for a job or jobs. They must decide, first of all, if they want to do freelance work or have one steady job with a company. If they are working for one company, it can be an agency or a single company. Writers must then decide if they wish to write for their entire career or pursue a job as an editor.
The point is that many options exist, and those listed in the book are specifically geared toward the interactive writer. For the linear/interactive writer, the opportunities multiply.

I agree with your take on the author's point. I found it very rudimentary, by that I mean, it seems to have been written for young people who have never had a job or looked for a job in their chosen career.
ReplyDeletestability or freedom--isn't that always the question. I like the freedom choice as an independent contractor; hopefully, I can keep getting "gigs" to maintain some sort of stability.
ReplyDeleteoptions indeed are limitless and a career on multimedia writing is a lucrative one... that is, of course, if one really wants to be a part of it.
