Chapter 14: Museum Kiosk

This chapter talks about the extensive changes that occur in a project from initial concept to the final production. The changes in this particular case were motivated by several factors. In the proposal, the designer suggested that the users would draw a ship and then the computer would build that ship. This changed not only because it offered the users too much flexibility, but also because the idea to provide the users with a limited number of choices was actually more educational. They were then able to learn more about the different hull types, superstructures, engine types, and ballast. They could then make the best choices to complete each mission based on their newfound knowledge. The lesson to be learned from this chapter is that we as designers need to be flexible to the needs and wants of the clients.
